Specially Gifted Golf Tournament 2024: Impactful Swings

As we entered the ‘ber months this year, we kicked off the change in season with our Third Annual Specially Gifted Golf Tournament.  Golfers had the opportunity to tee off for a worthy cause and make a meaningful impact in the lives of families caring for children with disabilities from our community.  The event brought together individuals from all walks of life, united by their shared passion for golf and their desire to give back to those in need.

Thank You To Our Beautiful Host

Located in the heart of Roswell, Georgia, Horseshoe Bend Country Club is a premier golf course known for its scenic beauty and challenging fairways.  Nestled in a picturesque landscape, the course offers a unique golfing experience for players of all skill levels.

Each year, our annual golf tournament features a diverse community of golf enthusiasts who come together to enjoy the game and support charitable causes like SGF.  With a mix of seasoned players and newcomers, this event fosters a sense of camaraderie and unity among everyone involved.

Sponsoring Three Years in a Row, Amwins

SGF is grateful to everyone who sponsored and participated in our 2024 golf tournament, but none of it would have been possible without Amwins and their incredible team.  They always show up in the greatest way for SGF and we are forever thankful.  Sponsoring this event three years in a row is testament to their dedication to our mission.

With the support of sponsors like Amwins, the tournament was a resounding success, raising funds to benefit deserving families and furthering the mission of SGF.  Through generous donations and participation, the event showcased the power of community and the positive change that can be achieved when people come together for a common purpose.

See Your Impact Here

Events such as our annual golf tournament are a huge part of how we are able to carry out our mission at SGF.  Your impact extends far beyond our annual gifting goal, which is 10 new families each year.  In addition to special gifts and opportunities up to $5,000, we also provide beneficial resources and a sense of community to the families we serve.

There is no price on these other two crucial functions of our mission, as they are on-going.

One of the ways we do this is by partnering with other nonprofits like The Sweet Cocoon for an annual Halloween event, Trick or Treating for Our Friends with Special Needs.  This community event is tied to our mission in every way.  The Sweet Cocoon and this event welcomes not only children with disabilities, but also adults.

This is one of the many areas SGF stands apart from other organizations, and this is part of what we are building, together, as a community.  Supporting our mission provides us with the means to carry out all three parts of our mission.  When you choose to give back to SGF, you are directly impacting children like Alyannah and her family.

Meet Alyannah and her family!  Alyannah, Ally, has faced many challenges in life due to having muscular dystrophy.  Despite this, she has shown resilience and determination in pursuing her interests such as playing the piano, singing, dancing, and drawing.  Ally’s mom told SGF about her testing out an adaptive tricycle during a therapy session and she absolutely loved it.

With the help of Freedom Concepts, Ally will soon receive her very own custom adaptive tricycle, providing her with a new outlet for exercise and motor skill development.  This gift will not only bring joy to Ally but also remind her that her disability does not define her.

As we welcome new Gifted Families, we get to share their stories with the world and so much more.  THIS is what you are a part of when you partner with SGF.

Celebrating Challenges On and Off the Course

As we reflect on the success of our Third Annual Specially Gifted Golf Tournament, we are reminded of the importance of community and how it plays a vital role in our mission at SGF.  By engaging with like-minded individuals, networking, and enjoying a day of golf on a beautiful course, we are able to drive change and create brighter futures for those in need.

Join us in celebrating the spirit of generosity and unity that defines events like our Specially Gifted Golf Tournament.  Together, we can make a difference and continue to support families caring for children with disabilities in Georgia.  Thank you to all who participated and contributed to this impactful event.
