Last month, we held our First Annual Specially Gifted Golf Tournament sponsored by Amwins. I don’t believe any of us realized how much fun a golf tournament could be until we experienced it for ourselves; this could be due to the fact that it was a SGF event. All bias aside, we have an incredible team and support base behind the scenes working relentlessly at each of these events to ensure everyone has a wonderful time. Our first charity golf tournament was no different; not only was it a tremendous success, but also an opportunity to meet some of the incredible Amwins team members that have supported and celebrated our mission since day one!
Golfers Tee Up for Fundraising Drive
On October 4, 2022, twenty-nine teams teed-up on the lush greens of Atlanta National Golf Club to support a great cause. It was a beautiful day for golf and the perfect opportunity to mix business with pleasure. Conversations were generated and connections were made amongst individuals that will now spread our mission throughout their communities.
The morning started off with Chick-fil-A, coffee, and a warm welcome from our generous host, SGF co-founders, and Amwins team members. The players then took to the course to tee off the fundraising drive. As they navigated the undulating greens, players were met with different challenges and opportunities to win prizes. Thankfully, lunch was provided by Lexington Specialty Insurance to keep everyone energized and in the game.
Once everyone returned from the course with tales of their success, they had an opportunity to meander about the grounds and browse the silent auction items. While they continued to network, bid on items, and participate in friendly banter, we were gearing up to announce raffle and trophy winners.
Golf Tournament Success Far Exceeds Expectations
As the event came to a close, we were overcome with a sense of accomplishment and humility. We were proud of the turnout and the connections we established, while also keenly aware of the hard work and dedication poured into the event by everyone involved. Surrounded by people from many different backgrounds, we all managed to come together and support SGF’s mission to benefit families taking care of children with disabilities. It’s moments like these that you look back on and admire the growth achieved all because of one event in life.
Speaking of growth, we are pleased to announce the results from everyone’s contribution to our First Annual SGF Golf Tournament. We came into this event with a goal to gift two families with gifts up to $5,000 in value, but the final numbers have left us speechless.
Thank you to everyone who helped us to raise $29,030.60 IN PROFIT! Not only will this benefit several deserving families from our communities, but also provide much needed resources to continue serving our Gifted Families. The impact will be felt throughout the entire SGF community, and we cannot possibly express our gratitude enough.
