Specially Gifted Foundation Q1 2024 Recap

Specially Gifted Foundation Q1 2024 Recap

As we reflect on the first quarter of 2024, it is with great pride and gratitude that we share the accomplishments and milestones of Specially Gifted Foundation.  Despite the ongoing challenges and uncertainties in the world, our organization has continued to make a positive impact in the lives of individuals with disabilities and their families.  From innovative programs to community outreach initiatives, we are thrilled to highlight the progress and success of Q1 in 2024.

Celebrating 4 Years of Impact

As Specially Gifted Foundation celebrated its FOUR year anniversary since founding in January 2020, the organization reflected on the impact it has made in the lives of Georgia families and caregivers of children with disabilities.  With a mission to provide special gifts or opportunities, beneficial resources, and a sense of community, SGF has continued to serve the entire family and make a difference in the lives of those in need.

As of January 2024, SGF has welcomed 46 Gifted Families.  None of this would have been possible without the dedication and support of our generous donors, sponsors, volunteers, fundraising committee, and our community.  As our team celebrated this milestone during our first quarterly meeting of 2024, we received the most generous gift from SGF Co-Founder Macey Price Belter.  She had custom bracelets made for each of us with SGF’s founding date engraved in them.

Now when we look at this beautiful accessory, we are reminded of where we started as an organization and how far we have come.  It is our hope that our mission continues to thrive and reach more families in need for many years to come.

SGF Gifts a Safe Space for Ryan

SGF’s first gifting of 2024 was Ryan and his family.  Ryan was born a healthy baby boy initially.  It wasn’t until around 9 months of age his mother noticed he wasn’t hitting his milestones.  After countless referrals, evaluations, testing, and therapy sessions, he was diagnosed with cerebral palsy and later on began experiencing seizures.

His mother, a single parent, has navigated many challenges alongside Ryan.  When she reached out to SGF, her main concern was his safety.  As he has gotten older, he has also become taller and stronger than his mother, bringing on a whole new set of challenges.

Given his love for running and playing outside, his mother wanted to provide him with a space at home to do just that without having to worry as much about not being able to manage him back inside.  SGF was pleased to provide a fenced-in backyard at home for Ryan to enjoy being outside and play to his heart’s content.  Learn more about Ryan’s story below!

Successful Partnership for International Women’s Day: Kendra Gives Back to SGF

SGF was chosen to partner with Kendra Scott of Avalon for a Kendra Gives Back event to celebrate International Women’s Day.  During the event, SGF team member Andrea was present in the store for a couple of hours to meet with shoppers and share SGF.  During this time frame, all shoppers that mentioned SGF at checkout would have 20% of their purchase donated directly back to SGF.  Additionally, shoppers who used a promo code online the day of the event had 20% of their purchases donated to SGF as well.

This Kendra Gives Back event raised $449 for SGF!

Be a Part of SGF’s Mission

As SGF looks ahead to the rest of 2024, the organization remains committed to its mission of supporting Georgia families and caregivers of children with disabilities.  Through the generosity of supporters, partnerships with businesses like Kendra Scott, and ongoing community engagement, SGF is able to provide essential resources, programs, and support to those in need.

By working together, SGF can make a lasting impact on the lives of these deserving families in Georgia.  We look forward to growing our mission, reaching more families, generating more advocacy for the special community we serve, and partnering with more individuals and businesses in 2024.
