2021 Fundraiser Events – Specially Gifted Foundation
Fund·rais·er (Noun): an event held to generate financial support for a charity or other enterprise.
This is what the Oxford Dictionary defines as a fundraiser. Here at Specially Gifted Foundation, it is so much more. Whether it is a fundraiser hosted by or on behalf of SGF, these events attest to the devotion of our communities to this organization. When we all gather with purpose, there is no goal deemed insurmountable. Regardless of how you support SGF’s mission, we are all making a difference.
Our first year delivered more success than we dreamed of; 2021 was no different. Everyone showed up to support Specially Gifted Foundation despite everything. Although we had to reschedule some events to a later date, we were blessed with many opportunities to grow our Specially Gifted Families in 2021… Let’s take a look.
Spring in the Valley
We started the year off with a bang by hosting the First Annual Spring in the Valley Festival at Coosa Valley Fairgrounds in Rome, Georgia. Just as Specially Gifted Foundation supports the whole family, this was a community event that catered to the entire family. The day was filled with business vendors, live-musicians, petting-zoo animals, food trucks, bouncy houses, and more! This wasn’t just an ordinary festival. All ticket sales and vendor fees went to Specially Gifted Foundation so that a family who has a child with disabilities could be gifted from this event.
Spring in the Valley Festival was such a success. Collectively, we raised $11,265.65! Given this substantial accomplishment, TWO families were able to benefit from this fundraiser event. These events are part of what makes it possible to fulfil our mission at SGF. When we all come together and exceed expectations, our results build more stepping stones to help others!
If we didn’t see you this year, we hope to have you join us next year at this wonderful family-friendly festival!
Not only did we host a successful event, but we were also honored to have the following events hosted on our behalf…
2021 fundraisers hosted for sgf:
Seven Hills Nutrition Fundraiser
As you all know, we love our Specially Gifted Families and with every opportunity to grow, we embrace each blessing with a grateful heart. The Seven Hills Nutrition Fundraiser for SGF was extra special because the host, Casey Nash, is part of the SGF family! We were blessed with the opportunity to gift Casey and her family a trip to Disney World. As a way of giving back, she organized a local fundraiser event in Rome, Georgia at Seven Hills Nutrition where all proceeds were donated to Specially Gifted Foundation. SGF kid Parker Nash even worked as the cashier! Could this fundraiser get more awesome? Why, of course!
The icing on the fundraiser cake was when Parker was able to hand SGF founders, Macey Price and Breann Kernion Lanham, a check for $2,000!
“After becoming part of the SGF family, I can’t help but to be so eager to give back and watch another family receive such a wonderful blessing!” – Casey Nash.
acts of kindness
Each month, Cobb County District 2 Commissioner, Jerica Richardson, and her office host an Acts of Kindness event. These events focus on a worldwide issue, highlight a local nonprofit that works to address the issue, and engage community members that they may partner with the nonprofit. The mission of every Acts of Kindness is to inspire community transformation through community service, ultimately translating the act of community service into policy through discussion and further action.
For September’s Acts of Kindness event, Commissioner Richardson and her team partnered with Specially Gifted Foundation. We are honored that the Cobb County Commissioner and team chose to partner with SGF!
christmas on the coosa
Entrepreneur Tiffany Ballinger reached out to Specially Gifted Foundation to help host the car event at her Christmas on the Coosa festival in Rome, Georgia. We couldn’t think of a better way to start off the holiday season than with a holiday themed fundraiser including a car show featuring Specially Gifted Foundation! The Car Show provided attendees with the opportunity to not only see an exceptional collection of vintage cars, trucks, and motorcycles, but also to donate to SGF. All car show entry fees and raffle tickets were donated to SGF!
We are grateful that Tiffany chose SGF to participate in this event. Not to mention, the founders embraced the educational aspect of this event and expanded their knowledge of vintage automobiles. Overall, the event was a win-win for everyone involved & a total of $800 was raised for SGF!
white electrical gives back
The Rome, Georgia branch of White Electrical chose Specially Gifted Foundation as their local nonprofit organization to support in 2021. At Specially Gifted Foundation, we believe that children with disabilities deserve to be loved and valued as equals in our society. We respect the unique journey that each of their families face and are dedicated to enriching their lives by providing them with a special gift or opportunity, beneficial resources, and a sense of community. We are grateful for companies like White Electrical that share these same values and choose our mission to give back to!
White Electrical Gives Back raised $3,500 in 2021! With every donation, we are able to gift medical equipment and therapy services denied by insurance, adaptive family trips, special education scholarships and so much more to Rome families.
As you can see here at Specially Gifted Foundation, we are blessed beyond measure! Not only do we enjoy hosting these events and being hosted, but we love the entire process. Our communities always show up and show out for SGF! We would not have the gifting success stories without the support of these fundraisers. The donors, sponsors, volunteers, vendors, attendees, SGF families, and all other forms of SGF supporters are the heart and soul of this organization! We cannot wait to see what 2022 has in store for SGF!
