The Rome Chamber Partnership with SGF

Benefits from chamber partnership has led SGF to more networking opportunities, a deeper impact on the Rome Floyd community, and so much more.  Are you a member of your local Chamber of Commerce?  Specially Gifted Foundation is!  Chambers can be a wonderful resource for businesses if utilized properly.  Our Rome Floyd Chamber has helped SGF spread our mission throughout our community and provided resources along the way.  Amongst the countless rewards of chamber membership is more exposure!  For instance, SGF was nominated Nonprofit of the Week the week of November 22, 2021.  That’s not all – keep reading to find out more about how our local chamber is helping SGF’s impact on the Rome/Floyd community.

On February 18, 2022, we received more wonderful news from our Rome Floyd Chamber; our very own Macey Price, Co-Founder of SGF, was nominated Chamber Member of the Day!  On behalf of everyone at Specially Gifted Foundation, we would like to thank the Rome Floyd Chamber for the exceptional support we have received since becoming a member.

sgf in the media spotlight!

This incredible acknowledgement then led to another amazing opportunity – Macey was offered the chance to talk about SGF on the WRGA radio station with Tony McIntosh March 3rd.  The following week, we received more good news – Coosa Valley News recognized Macey as their Person of the Month!  You can watch that interview below or read the article here.  One of my favorite questions was when they asked about her journey to SGF.  Macey loves talking about Kendall “KK” – the reason behind SGF.  With each question, you see our co-founders’ excitement to share this uniquely incredible organization she and Breann Lanham have built.  She had the chance to talk about when Garth Brooks FaceTimed Tyson, SGF’s angel, and the Disney trip gifting for Parker and his family.  Of course, you can’t possibly talk about Parker without talking about our upcoming event, Spring in the Valley

Do you know what Parker and our upcoming event have in common?  Parker’s gifting was made possible by the success we experienced with our first annual Spring in the Valley Festival.  Spring in the Valley 2021 raised $11,265.56!  This blessing enabled us to gift not only Parker’s family, but Jaley’s family, too!

Spring in the Valley Festival is intended to create a fun-filled experience for the whole family.  We invited the entire community to come enjoy live music, local boutique/vendor shopping, food trucks, live exotic animals, bouncy houses, face painting, and so much more!  The outcome was better than we could have even imagined it.  Not only were we able to help two families, but we got to hang out with some of our SGF kiddos and their families.  Our Gifted Families are a testament that good conquers all.  These kids and their families face devastating battles along the way, but their resilience gives us all inspiration while fueling our advocacy.  Being able to see them enjoy life at an event surrounded by a community that has gathered to support them is an indescribable feeling.

Not only did we get to see some of our SGF families at SIV, but we witnessed the lingering effects from the impact SIV had on our community.  There have been families and businesses to reach out to SGF because they either attended SIV or they heard about it – you know how much we love spreading and sharing our mission!  It gets better – we met Russell Fountain and his family at SIV in 2021, and in March they became our first gifted family of 2022!

Sgf is grateful for the infinite benefits from chamber partnership!!

SGF is the gift that keeps on giving – we exist because of our generous supporters and their willingness to give.  SGF having a home in Rome brought us to Rome Floyd Chamber; this then brought us to more opportunities to spread awareness and pave the way for growth within SGF.  Macey’s recent recognition, and the natural spark of intrigue in SGF by the chamber and local media supports the aspirations expressed by Macey in the following statement from SGF’s About Us page…

“I am truly so obsessed with what we are doing here at SGF. These children with special needs have far more to teach us about life than we could ever teach them. I’m looking forward to shining some light on their beautiful abilities and the unique journey each of their families is on. Together I know we can make a difference.”

She is absolutely right - together, we can continue to make a difference!

We thank the Rome Floyd Chamber again for being an endless source of support, and for helping us spread our mission at SGF.  We also appreciate the media opportunities with WRGA radio station and Coosa Valley News for a chance to share SGF’s mission in hopes to reach more people.  Every part of the SGF community goes above and beyond to ensure we have the tools and resources to keep making gifting dreams come true for these deserving families!  Please check out Macey’s interview with Coosa Valley News below.
