You Can Transform Lives

Support Families Caring for Children with Disabilities

Our Mission

At Specially Gifted Foundation, we believe that children with disabilities deserve to be loved and valued as equals in our society. We respect the unique journey that each of their families face and are dedicated to enriching their lives by providing them with a special gift or opportunity, beneficial resources, and a sense of community.

Our History

Specially Gifted Foundation, Inc. is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit (Tax-ID 84-4273422) established in January 2020 by Bree Kernion Lanham and Macey Price Belter.

Our Story

In a world where every child deserves to be celebrated, there are families are facing extraordinary challenges every day. This is the story of how two women, brought together by fate and united by compassion, are changing lives across Georgia – and how you can be part of this transformative journey.

Our story begins with Kendall, a bright-eyed girl who entered this world facing tremendous obstacles. At just three weeks old, Kendall was diagnosed with intractable epilepsy. As she grew, so did her challenges – severe developmental delays, cerebral palsy, and cortical vision impairment became part of her daily life. Despite requiring 24/7 care, Kendall radiates joy and teaches those around her about unconditional love.

“Some people may look at Kendall and see her deficiencies, but we view Kendall as a blessing from God,” shares Jill Kernion, Kendall’s mother. “She teaches us every day about unconditional love and what life can be like without hate, anger, jealousy.”

For Bree Kernion Lanham, Kendall’s sister and our co-founder, growing up alongside Kendall offered a unique perspective on the challenges and joys of having a sibling with severe disabilities. It was this personal experience that planted the seed for what would become Specially Gifted Foundation.

Enter Macey Price Belter, a compassionate soul whose journey with the special needs community began as Kendall’s therapy facilitator. Macey’s heart for serving others led her on a path of extensive volunteer work, both locally and internationally. Her hands-on experience with children with disabilities and their families across the globe gave her invaluable insights into the universal needs of these special families.

When Bree approached Macey with the idea of creating a foundation to support families like hers, the decision to join forces was instantaneous. Their combined experiences – Bree’s personal insight and Macey’s passionate volunteer work – formed the perfect foundation for what was to come.

In 2020, Specially Gifted Foundation was born. With a clear mission to be a beacon of hope and support for families across Georgia navigating the unique journey of raising a child with disabilities, Bree and Macey set out to make a difference.

Today, Specially Gifted Foundation offers a unique, holistic approach to supporting these special families. We understand that each family’s journey is different, which is why we focus on providing tailored support that benefits the entire family unit. From life-changing gifts valued up to $5,000 to community-building events and valuable resources, we’re here to walk alongside these families every step of the way.

But our story doesn’t end here. In fact, this is where you come in. Your support can transform lives, offering hope and help to families who need it most. Whether through donations, volunteering, or simply spreading the word, you have the power to be part of this incredible journey.

Together, we can create a world where every child with a disability is valued, supported, and given the opportunity to thrive. Join us in our mission to provide support, create community, and offer hope to those who need it most. Be part of our story – a story of love, compassion, and transformative impact.
