Kendall’s 5 Favorite Children’s Books – July

Welcome back to Kendall’s Library!

I hope you and your littles enjoyed the books Kendall recommended last month, Kendall’s 5 Favorite Children’s Books – July.

We’re excited to share more books we are loving!

Tickle Monster – Josie Bissett/Kevan J. Atteberry

This book could be read all day, everyday and Kendall would never be over it. When given the choice between the Tickle Monster and any other book, Tickle Monster wins every single time! It has everything Miss Kendall loves. It rhymes, it is the “silliest, zaniest” story, and she absolutely loves to be tickled! Add a crazy accent and get your tickle fingers ready when you read this to your little ones. Five stars – 10/10 from KK!

The Foolish Tortoise – Richard Buckley/Eric Carle

The inevitable animal book! Kendall loves to point out the different animals and thinks it is so silly that the turtle takes off his shell! She likes to read this rhyming, “dramatic” tale of a fearful turtle on his journey back to his shell – safe and sound. Bonus points because it’s a cardboard book and allows Kendall to turn the pages successfully!

A Summery Saturday Morning – Margaret Mahy/ Selina Young

With it being summer, I always add seasonal books to the mix! Kendall loves to be outside so this one lights her up! She loves the pictures and the funny story, too! It’s another “sing-read” so it’s a go-to book for some singing. Very cute, must-have summer read for your littles!

Shoe-La-La – Karen Beaumont/ LeUyen Pham

This book is FABULOUS! It’s glittery and bright, and all about shoes! This is Kendall’s sassy book! It’s about 4 little girls shoe shopping for a party. I change the names of the girls to mine, Kendall’s, and two of her other friends’ to make it even more fun! Rhyming AND a sassy, girlie read… we are here for it!

And Here’s to You – David Elliott/ Randy Cecil

This book is a personal favorite of mine! I love to read this book to Kendall, because it shares what we can appreciate in animals, people and even ourselves. Children’s books that touch on self-love are a great way to instill positive self-talk in our kiddos at a young age! Kendall loves the colors, the rhyming, and she is full of self-love, so she overall approves!
