North Georgia Gifting During COVID

Although it looks a little different right now, we are not letting COVID stop us from positively impacting families! At the beginning of 2020, we never thought this would be our gifting process, but we are rolling with the punches! …even if we resemble bank robbers.

We are doing our best to keep our team and our gifted families safe by following the CDC safety guidelines. This includes wearing masks and thorough hand hygiene. Our entire team is excited to be back gifting! We were happy to have our two team members, Matt Foster and Lindsey Williams, experience this day with us.

This particular gifting was with the Ruff family in Cedartown, Georgia. They truly are some of the sweetest people! It’s true, Bree and I get attached to every single family we get the chance to speak with. This is no exaggeration! However, for myself, it is even more special to me when we are able to directly impact people from the two communities I grew up in and have family in – Rome and Cedartown.

Below is the blurb Jennifer Ruff provided us with when we asked how we could best gift their family.

Porter McClain Ruff was born on July 10, 2010. He was born with hypoxic

ischemic encephalopathy causing his diagnosis of cerebral palsy, epilepsy, and

global developmental delay. Although his life may come with many challenges, we

do our best to create a fun, healthy and enjoyable environment for him. Porter is an

only child and spends most of his time at home with mom, dad and his two dogs.

He enjoys going to school and attending all social outings. A gift that would be

beneficial for Porter would be the Adaptive Star Axiom Endeavour 3 Special

Needs Stroller. It is designed for use as in indoor or outdoor mobility system. It

easily glides through grass, gravel, over curbs, and sand. It becomes difficult to

constantly load his standard wheelchair when we want to go on adventures or even

walks. This would be a fantastic addition to Porter’s life as he may enjoy more

time outdoors being a 10-year-old boy!”

We are so happy we were able to gift this specific special needs stroller for Porter, and hopefully make getting around a little bit easier. Take a look below to see behind-the-scenes of the Ruff family gifting.
