Wheeler High School, Marietta, GA
Website: click here
Join the Georgia Symphony Orchestra for a sensory-friendly performance of Prokofiev’s classic “Peter and the Wolf” and Holst’s “St. Paul’s Suite.” This 45-minute concert is specifically designed for individuals with sensory sensitivities and their families. Audience members are free to move about, dance, speak, sing, or vocalize during the performance. The GSO is proud to be a KultureCity Sensory Inclusive™ Certified organization.
Before and after the concert, explore the Instrument Petting Zoo in the lobby where attendees can experience a variety of instruments firsthand. Simple percussion instruments are available to pick up and try, while more complex instruments have attendants to help with strumming, plucking, or bowing. A Quiet Room is also available for those who need a break from the instrumental sounds. Please note that due to the nature of the music, some portions may be louder than previous sensory concerts, so headphones/ear covers are recommended for those with higher sensitivity to louder musical dynamics.
