Izzy

This is our little family. I’m Brandi, my husband is Trinity and we’ve been married almost 9 years. We have 3 kids. Braxton is 6, Izzy is 3, and Eamon is 18 months.

We found out about Izzy‘s heart defects at our 20-week anatomy scan and immediately thrown into the crazy, hectic, heart life. She had her first heart surgery at 5 days old and her 2nd heart surgery at 9 months old. We recently found out, at her last echo, that one of her repairs is failing and heart surgery #3 is somewhere ahead of us.

Izzy was also born with hemivertibrae and tethered cord. Neither of these has required surgery yet, and we are hoping to wait several more years before it is needed. For now, we get in all the physical and occupational therapy we can! She does walk but struggles with balance.

Izzy has been diagnosed with level 3, nonverbal autism. We are working on sign language in speech therapy. We hope to have words one day…but if not, we are all learning sign so we can all communicate.

Izzy is a very happy little girl. She is free-spirited, fearless, and strong-willed. She is fierce. Despite not having words, she has no problem making her needs, wants, likes, and dislikes known. She loves her baby dolls, water, swinging, and playing outside. She loves the fishies at the aquarium and the animals at the zoo. She loves going sightseeing at places she can walk around and touch things.

We have asked for an above ground pool & fenced-in play area for Izzy. (We already have the play area items/swings/trampoline/slides…etc) I have looked into water therapy and really think Izzy will benefit from being able to build more muscles and tone with the pool. For fencing around her play area, I asked for that because she is a runner. We also use her play items as tools to work on physical therapy. I don’t have any links because I’m not set on any specific items. Just a good, sturdy pool & fence. We would be so appreciative of any size or style gifted to us for her.
