Tyson’s Family

Tyson's familyTyson had a stroke in utero, and he was overcoming that…he learned to walk and talk some. He was doing so well until July 2019 when he was diagnosed with DIPG. He has extraordinary pitching abilities. And loves baseball/football. He has an obsession with Garth Brooks and his music. He loves singing (mouthing) his songs/country songs. We don’t know how long we have. Most kids only live 9 months …. Tyson is going on a year. Thank you, Sweet Jesus!!

Tyson

His dad has taken leave of absence from work to spend time with Tyson and go places and make memories. They would appreciate the opportunity to go places.

He would love to meet Garth Brooks…but we know that is probably impossible. Perhaps a visit to The Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, Or a suite at an Atlanta Braves Baseball game/ Atlanta Falcons Football Game. He loves sports.

Tyson became an SGF angel in December of 2020.  We will forever be grateful for the chance to welcome Tyson and his sweet family as an SGF Gifted Family.  Tyson’s memory will live on in our mission and our community.

In addition to his gifting, SGF was able to make Tyson’s wish come true (virtually).  The power of community shined as we were able to reach Garth Brooks in 2020 via social media.  Garth Brooks Facetimed Tyson and even gave him a shoutout during a Facebook Live Concert.  Tyson’s parents shared part of their Facetime chat with SGF.  Learn more about this experience and watch Tyson meet Garth Brooks here!
