We are a blended family of seven, children’s ages range from 18 years to 10 months old. My son Leland was my 3rd child. (Who is now 5) He seemed to be hitting every milestone on time until about 18 months old. His verbal communication slowly faded to nothing. I had Leland evaluated and was told he was fine. I continued to notice things Leland was doing such as never wanting to play with other children, poor eye contact, many other things. After 3 years we finally got a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder, Mixed receptive expression language disorder, developmental delays. Leland is in a special education PreK program at a local elementary school. He enjoys going, he is not afraid to go however he is not making much progress. Leland will be starting speech and occupational therapy inside school as well as outside school. Leland is nonverbal so communication is a big frustration right now.
Leland is a sweet loving child that loves to play and climb, On Everything!!! Leland loves the park however Leland is very quick and likes to elope any chance he gets. This is why I am asking for a playset as his gift. This gift will give Leland playing and climbing at home without the fear of Leland running off.
